Exciting news for fans of The Bottle of Sauce in Cheltenham — its parent company, Dodo Pub Co, is opening a second pub in the town.

The Airs and Graces is set to open in March 2024 at the Grade II-listed Sudeley Arms pub on Prestbury Road, following what it's describing as 'a full Dodo style revamp'.

The historic pub first opened in 1826 and closed its doors on Tuesday 2 January 2023, with Dodo Pub Co announcing the take over on Thursday 22 January 2023. It was offered for sale as a freehold public house through Savills, with the opportunity to 'refurbish and reposition'.

The revamp will feature Dodo Pub Co's signature style but with a slightly different food offering, with a focus on Neapolitan-style pizzas and bar snacks, as well as a unique menu of topped garlic bread.

Dodo Pub Co co-founder, Leo Johnson, said: 'We’ve been looking for an eighth site for a while and expanding in Cheltenham seemed like the natural choice for us. We’ve always loved the vibe, and with this pub being a slightly different offering to its ‘sister pub’ The Bottle of Sauce, we believe the ‘Airs and Graces’ will be a great addition to the neighbourhood and more broadly, the town itself.'

The new venue joins the likes of Havanas Coffee and The Rum Bar on what is fast becoming a hotspot on the outskirts of Cheltenham town centre. It will also create 15 new jobs with recruitment underway already.

The pub is ideally located for revellers attending the iconic Cheltenham Festival, but it's not clear whether it will be open in time for this year's event. Watch this space!
