The new activity centre offers more than 60 games, virtual escape rooms and free-roam experiences which can be enjoyed in teams or individually.

New virtual reality gaming centre VRXtra has opened its first ever UK attraction at We Do Play — Gloucester’s new indoor activity complex — just in time for February half term.

The innovative new activity centre utilises state-of-the-art virtual reality technology to deliver more than 60 games, virtual escape rooms and free-roam experiences which can be enjoyed in teams or individually.

Its VR studio accommodates up to 16 players with VR headsets and tethered stations, with sessions lasting from 30 to 90 minutes available to book at a range of prices.

The centre can also be used for educational purposes, making it a great choice for schools looking to bring lessons to life with VR.

We Do Play co-founder Rich Beese said: 'This is a real first in the south west and the first of many VRXtra sites that We Do Play will be opening; the game play is amazing and the technology is flawless.

'It is geared up for avid gamers, fun seekers and people looking for something totally out of this world.

'We will offer parties and varied sessions for every type of customer; we really are so excited to unleash this in Gloucester as our maiden site.'

Prices for the activity start at £20 per person for a 30-minute experience.

We Do Play at the former Primark store at King’s Walk Shopping Centre is set to offer a range of family entertainment and food, including the newly-launched Laser Quest and in the coming months, Putt Putt Noodle mini golf and Asian restaurant.
