On a hot summer day with a chilled glass of wine in hand and an enviable view of the vine-covered slopes at Woodchester Valley Vineyard, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the Mediterranean - and with holidaymakers heading abroad being faced with flight delays and short notice cancellations, the Stroud destination is encouraging people to enjoy a summer staycation right here in Gloucestershire instead, with it still having limited availability in July and August 2022.

Woodchester Valley Vineyard boasts a six-bedroom house, a rustic two-bedroom farmhouse and three barns to stay in, with both the house and farmhouse being child- and dog-friendly.

Sleeping up to 14 guests, Woodchester Valley House boasts impressive views over the vineyard and has six double bedrooms, a sofa bed, four ensuites and a family bathroom, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, two lounges and a garden with an alfresco dining area. With a three-night minimum stay, it's ideal for large families or groups of friends looking for a late summer holiday.

The Retreat is a rustic farmhouse overlooking Woodchester Valley and has two double bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, with a two-night minimum stay. The Retreat also has a fully equipped kitchen, a large lounge and a garden with outside seating, making it a great option for smaller families and couples travelling together.

As for the three Vineyard Barns sleeping two guests each, these are strictly adults-only. Equipped with a kitchenette, a separate living room and a balcony boasting spectacular vineyard views, they're ideal for romantic getaways.

As well as soaking up the sunshine, taking a tour of the vineyard and enjoying some of that award-winning wine, Woodchester Valley Vineyard is also a great base for exploring the south Cotswolds, with must-visit attractions like Stroud Farmers' Market, Woodchester Mansion, Painswick Rococo Garden and Westonbirt Arboretum all nearby - as well as Bibury, Cirencester and Gloucester all within 40-minutes' drive. There are plenty of beautiful walks and independent shops on the doorstep, too.

Woodchester Valley House and The Retreat both have some availability left for July and August 2022, ideal for a last-minute summer holiday - especially if you're looking to take a midweek break, while the Vineyard Barns have very limited availability until October 2022.
