6 wonderful Lilian Faithfull Care homes in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire charity, Lilian Faithfull Care, has been looking after elderly people in the county for more than 75 years, providing expert residential, nursing, palliative and dementia care, as well as independent living.

The charity is proud to put people before profits, providing a home for life for its residents - and with six beautiful care homes across the county, SoGlos rounds up just some of the wonderful things about each of them in this hot list.

Bay Tree Court in Prestbury

Bay Tree Court has recently become part of the Lilian Faithfull Care family, with the home being at the heart of the local community tucked away just off Prestbury High Street. There are lovely pubs and cafés right on the doorstep, as well as four main bus routes passing the home to take residents and their families into Cheltenham.

The purpose-built residential home has 59 fully accessible rooms, with spacious communal areas, cosy coffee lounges, a library, conservatory, hair salon and private gardens, as well as an enclosed courtyard at the centre of the home which is an ideal alfresco dining spot in summer. 

Astell House in Cheltenham

Providing a peaceful location that's still in close proximity to the centre of Cheltenham, Astell House benefits from the best of both worlds – but it's the spectacular red brick building that really makes this home stand out.

With a stunning exterior and an interior that's bursting with period charm, the characterful home has 36 accessible rooms and plenty of lovely communal spaces. Resthaven in Stroud

St Faith's in Cheltenham

Providing exceptional, individually assessed nursing care for up to 59 residents, St Faith's in Cheltenham is a fully accessible home that's ideal for elderly people with additional needs. It benefits from a full-time activity co-ordinator and dementia care, as well as lovely gardens where residents can enjoy the outdoors safely. 

St Faith's is also home to The Fairhaven Suite, which is Lilian Faithfull Care's dedicated end-of-life care facility. Separate from the main building to provide a calm, tranquil environment, the suite offers palliative care in nine spacious and fully adapted suites, with space for family and friends to be close by, too. Royal Court in Cheltenham

Unlike Lilian Faithfull Care's other homes, residents at Royal Court have their very own self-contained apartments, with 24-hour support available and a dementia care suite also on-site. 

It benefits from a quiet location on the outskirts of Cheltenham with a bus stop directly opposite for heading into town.
