Scandinavian Coffee Pod at Gloucester Food Dock

Looking for a pick-me-up this month? A firm favourite in Cheltenham since its arrival in September 2014, The Scandinavian Coffee Pod is opening a second venue at Gloucester Food Dock this January 2024.

Coffee fans will be able enjoy freshly roasted, seasonal blends surrounded by Scandi design detail — with ethically-sourced coffee, espresso and V60 filter options, alongside locally-sourced cakes and pastries. There's gluten-free and vegan options, too.

The Corner House in Stroud

Serving up everything from linguine carbonara and seafood risotto to beef brisket burgers and goats cheese ciabatta paninis in its previous venue, The Corner House is opening at its new site this January 2024 on Stroud's Union Street, replacing Birch Restaurant.

From Tuesday 9 January 2024, foodies will once again be able to tuck into their favourite dishes, whether sharing a platter with friends or tucking into a 10oz sirloin steak for a special occasion — with the new venue catering for 56 covers.

Dosa Park in Cirencester

While the official opening date is yet to be announced, popular Oxfordshire restaurant group, Dosa Park, is opening its first Gloucestershire venue this January 2024.

Taking over the former Tierra and Mar on Sheep Street in Cirencester, which closed its doors after five years in June 2023, Dosa Park specialises in South Indian cuisine like its namesake dosas, idlis (savoury rice cakes), savoury fried vadas and more familiar favourites like biryanis and curries.

Vegan-only market day at Stroud Farmers' Market

Ideal for Veganuary, one of the busiest and most popular farmers' markets in the UK is going vegan, with the organisers of Stroud Farmers' Market announcing that from January 2024 it will host a vegan-only market day once a month.

With its first event on Sunday 28 January 2024, the new vegan market will run on the last Sunday of each month, with food and craft traders only selling produce that is 100 per cent plant based.

Soul n' Seoul in Gloucester

Replacing Hubble Bubble on Gloucester's Westgate Street, new Korean restaurant Soul n' Seoul is set to open this month, serving up a range of authentic dishes for hungry diners to sink their teeth into.

With the opening date yet to be announced, the new eatery hopes to open from the middle to the end of January 2024, so diners don't have to wait long to try its menu of sizzling bibimbap, Korean chicken, kimchi fried rice and bulgogi.
