The Newent Onion Fayre is back for 2022 – complete with world-famous onion eating competition.

Please note, this event has been cancelled.

After being postponed for two years, Newent Onion Fayre is back and promising an event bigger than ever this September 2022.

Taking place on Saturday 10 September 2022 and celebrating its silver jubilee, Newent Onion Fayre will feature fresh and local food and produce, through to beers, wines, ciders and juice sure to tickle your tastebuds – there’s more than just onions!

A great day out for all the family, entrants will go head-to-head, competing to win trophies for the most faultless produce.

If you can bear to witness it, the Newent Onion Fayre is also the home of the world-famous onion eating competition, which sees competitors test the strength of their stomachs as they race to consume an entire raw onion.

Plus, there will be activities galore, with three stages of live music, street entertainment, fairground rides, market stalls selling local produce, and you might even spot some belly dancers!

The ‘funion zone’ will keep younger visitors entertained throughout the day, while the dog arena will host a variety of fun classes that visitors’ four-legged friends can enter.
