A clear marketing goal of DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham was to increase wedding enquiries and ensure the hotel is on the radar of newly engaged couples in the county.
Already hosting around 25 to 30 weddings a year and with a good social media presence, after talking through strategic advertising options with its dedicated Partnerships Manager at SoGlos, one of the ways the busy hotel partnered with SoGlos in 2024 was to run an exclusive competition to win a wedding — with impressive results.
Raising awareness of its unique wedding facilities and packages and collecting rich data about a very targeted audience of newly-engaged couples, almost 2,000 people entered the Gloucestershire competition and as a result of seeing the competition at least four couples directly booked weddings at the hotel.
Director of sales, Jo Curtis, said: 'There's always a good reason to work with SoGlos... I got my return on investment.
As well as being 'a great company to work with', with 'great customer service', Jo said: 'We looked at boosting our weddings and as a result of our competition we've increased our weddings — the reach SoGlos has is the biggest factor.
'The traction is still building. It just took off, it was super... really good.'
