Dubbed a ‘six-week reopening extravaganza’, a trio of smash shows are coming to the Everyman Theatre’s stage from June 2021.
It will be the first-time full capacity audiences will be able to enjoy shows at the Cheltenham theatre for more than a year.
The national tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert will premiere in Cheltenham from Wednesday 23 June to Saturday 3 July 2021, with a parade of dancefloor classics from the 70s and 80s including ‘I Will Survive’, ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Finally’!
Next, the cast of Hairspray will be bringing their big hair and big voices to the Cheltenham theatre stage for a two-week run, from Monday 5 to Saturday 17 July 2021.
Followed by the record-breaking comedy The Play That Goes Wrong, which comes to the Everyman Theatre from Tuesday 20 July to Sunday 1 August 2021 – having sold-out twice previously.
Talking about the first of a whole flurry of exciting announcements, chief executive of the Everyman Theatre, Mark Goucher, said: ‘We have all had a very tough 12 months. The theatre has been closed for more than a year and our staff have been desperate to return to the building and help me bring shows and audiences back.
‘We need your support to help rebuild our business and enable us to provide Gloucestershire with the best shows available. This first announcement is fantastic for us and we hope to see everyone at the Everyman very soon.’
