A world premiere will be brought to Cheltenham, when writer Kay Mellor’s Band of Gold arrives at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, during it’s UK tour.
Based on the crime drama series of the same name, Band of Gold was a huge hit in the 1990s, with more than 15 million weekly viewers.
Telling the tale of four women working in a notorious red-light district, with murderous consequences, the production follows in the footsteps of Mellor’s other screen-to-stage adaptation, Fat Friends The Musical, which was a sell-out success.
The thriller hits the Everyman Theatre stage from Monday 2 March 2020, and stars Mellor’s daughter and Coronation Street and Emmerdale star, Gaynor Faye, X Factor singer Shayne Ward, and Laurie Brett from Eastenders.
Gaynor Faye told SoGlos why she gave up Emmerdale to star in Band of Gold. Don’t miss the chance to see the gritty stage production of Band of Gold in Cheltenham.
