Willans LLP solicitors is returning as headline sponsor of the SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards for 2021, continuing its support of the county’s biggest awards for a second year running.
While the Coronavirus pandemic meant many awards across the UK were cancelled in 2020, the third annual SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards forged ahead with an innovative virtual awards ceremony in October 2020, held via Facebook Live, which saw more than 2,400 viewers tune in over the course of the event.
A number of Willans’ expert team helped to make last year’s award format come to life, virtually presenting trophies to the 2020 winners which included Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, Cheltenham Racecourse, Everyman Theatre and The Royal International Air Tattoo.
The 2020 awards proved a much-needed highlight for the county following such a challenging year – with SGGLA 2021 providing the perfect chance to celebrate Gloucestershire’s lifestyle sector businesses with new optimism and vigour.
‘Willans was established here in Gloucestershire in the 1940s, and we are proud to support the SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards once again as headline sponsor. It’s important now more than ever that we recognise and celebrate our fantastic cultural attractions, sporting venues, hotels, eateries, events and charities,’ said Bridget Redmond, managing partner at Willans.
‘We have a long history of working with clients in the lifestyle sector and many of our 80-strong team live in Gloucestershire with their families, so the SoGlos Awards are a great fit with our core values and ethos. We can’t wait to see all of the nominations and voting action in 2021, and of course who will win the coveted awards later in the year.’ Bridget continued.
This year’s revamped SGGLA awards will take place over a longer timeframe, with nominations from March to May, voting from July to September, and the awards ceremony on Thursday 21 October 2021.
‘We’d like to express our sincere thanks to Willans for their continued support of SGGLA and their enthusiasm and adaptability in making last year’s virtual awards such a success,’ SoGlos co-founder James Fyrne said.
‘We are planning for a return to a real-life awards event at Cheltenham Ladies’ College in October 2021 – when finalists, sponsors and special guests will be able to come together for a long overdue celebration – however, as safety is always our top priority, we also have an even better virtual awards planned as a contingency’.
