The Cotswolds has been named one of the best destinations in the world for a honeymoon road trip, making the top 10 alongside locations like the Amalfi coast, the south of France and Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.
With its chocolate-box villages, picturesque surroundings, historic attractions, cosy country pubs and tonnes of charm, it's easy to see why the Cotswolds makes for an ideal romantic getaway, with the new top 10 list from SkyParkSecure putting the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 7th place.
Its criteria included the number of romantic restaurants, couple-friendly activities and honeymoon spots per area, as well as the average distance between stops.
With no less than 107 romantic restaurants, like the Michelin inspectors' favourite, The Fox at Oddington, the Cotswolds offers plenty of places to cosy up and reminisce about the big day, with the travel expert also highlighting the villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter and Castle Combe as must-visit locations for newlyweds.
There are more couples than ever looking for shorter, more outdoorsy honeymoons, with searches of 'honeymoon ideas for outdoorsy couples' rising by 150 per cent in the last year and searches for three-day or four-day honeymoon ideas rising by 100 per cent.
