An iconic building in the heart of the city, Bristol Old Vic will open its doors in autumn 2018 as a stunning and historic wedding venue, after undergoing a major transformation.
The Bristol landmark, which is the longest continually-running theatre in the UK, boasts a glorious Georgian stone frontage and is set along a quaint cobbled street, providing an impressive and dramatic venue for weddings.
The multi-million-pound refurbishment has seen the front of house, studio theatre and other public spaces undergo a stylish transformation, and allows couples to walk in the steps of stars such as Daniel Day Lewis, Jeremy Irons, Patrick Stewart and Judi Dench.
The Bristol Old Vic’s centrepiece is the Grade I-listed Coopers’ Hall, which dates back to 1744 when it was built as a Georgian banqueting hall, and has been restored to its former glory; with high ceilings and glorious over-arch windows, the elegant space offers romance and drama in abundance.
What’s more, budding brides and grooms who want to feel like theatre stars can tie the knot on the stage in the magnificent auditorium, which has been dubbed by Peter O’Toole as ‘the loveliest theatre in the world’.
