In a nutshell
With stylish spaces and panoramic lakeside views from the bedrooms, exceptional service made for a great night away at De Vere Cotswold Water Park.
The review
The room
Featuring some of the most impressive views across the stunning lakes, De Vere Cotswold Water Park boasts window watching opportunities everywhere you turn.
With an overnight stay in one of the hotel’s suites, we weren’t disappointed by the bedroom’s wrap around panoramic views of the lake, which looked magical even on a soggy Saturday.
Featuring its own kitchen area, generous bathroom and beautiful balcony, the suite is ideal for guests who want the conveniences of being at home but with the added luxuries of a hotel stay.
The Old Boathouse
With a warm welcome and the lure of the flickering fire, we took our seats in the completely renovated Old Boathouse Pub. The décor makes a gentle nod to the pub’s name with fishing rods, rustic boats and oars dressing the walls.
Starting our meal with some oven baked warm breads and flavour-packed dipping oils, the exceptional service and inviting atmosphere made for a cosy setting, and the chic interiors fuse together stylish dining with a relaxed pub-like feel.
For the main course we opted for The Old Boathouse Burger, featuring a superbly succulent beef patty, zingy cheddar cheese, crispy bacon and a punchy tomato relish to finish, all served up with skinny fries.
Our other choice was the Corn-fed char-grilled chicken which was served up with harissa mayonnaise, artichokes and a winter bean salad. A little small on its own, I also opted for a side of tender-stem broccoli which was effortlessly delicious, with each stem coated in chilli and almonds.
Spa 6
With the weather outside matching that of the swimming pool itself, we didn’t need much convincing to try out the heavenly Spa 6 at the hotel. Featuring a hydrotherapy pool with soothing jets and sunken beds within the water, we also tried the experience shower with cooling mist and rain effects.
Determined to embrace the full spa experience, we stretched out on the heated beds, with the warmth gently easing our backs. Also featuring a large sauna, steam room, ice chamber and a bucket shower, the spa is the perfect addition to a luxurious overnight stay.

Almost floating on the glorious lakes, De Vere Cotswold Water Park is the perfect place to start a walk around the gorgeous Cotswold countryside. With spectacular views and plenty of trails, the hotel is ideal for an active weekend away.

To complete the perfect stay, book early at The Old Boathouse and on warmer days, make the most of the beautiful views from the decking terrace outside.
