The Sunday Times has voted Cirencester the best place to live in the south west this year, thanks to its bustling shopping scene, good schools, cultural offerings and convenient transport links, among other attributes.
Describing Cirencester as ‘a supremely liveable town that more than lives up to its stunning historical backdrop’, The Sunday Times's Best Places to Live list recognises the often called 'capital of the Cotswolds' for its thriving high street and beautiful parks – as well as highlighting local cultural hotspots like The Barn Theatre and New Brewery Arts creative centre.
It also celebrates Cirencester's surrounding countryside which makes it 'heaven for dog-lovers', as well as the volunteer-run open air swimming pool.
Helen Davies, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2023, said: 'When times are tough, where we live matters more than ever. Attractive surroundings, good neighbours and a comfortable home are the best defences when the stresses of modern life seem overwhelming.
'This guide is a celebration of towns, cities and villages that are each a fantastic place to live in 2023 from Orkney to Felixstowe, the Chew Valley to Manchester city centre.'
