The exciting live reveal of this year’s SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards – sponsored by Willans LLP solicitors – will be going virtual in 2020, streamed through Facebook Live on Thursday 22 October 2020.
Originally scheduled to take place at Cheltenham Ladies’ College in May this year and postponed to October because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the prestigious event would have been attended by 400 Gloucestershire business representatives, coming together to find out who was to be crowned winner across the 23 categories.
While current government guidelines mean a physical event of this scale is still not possible, the decision to hold the anticipated awards evening online makes it accessible to a far greater audience – with business owners, team members, friends, family and the voters, who ultimately decide the winners, all now able to come together virtually for the celebration.
‘It’s no secret this year has been particularly tough for local businesses and in particular the lifestyle sector, so the chance to recognise and celebrate Gloucestershire’s best restaurant, attraction, independent school, independent shop and charity is just the positivity we need,’ said James Fyrne, SoGlos co-founder.
What’s more, the results of SGGLA 2020 are far from decided, as anyone who didn’t vote first time around will have chance to do so in a second voting phase, running from Tuesday 1 to Monday 28 September 2020 via soglos.com/awards.
The anticipated SGGLA results – and some surprise giveaways – will be announced from 8pm on Thursday 22 October 2020, via facebook.com/soglos. You can register for the live event here.
The plan for the future is for SGGLA 2021 to make a physical comeback at Cheltenham Ladies’ College’s stunning Princess Hall on Thursday 21 October 2021.
