Longfield Hospice near Stroud is launching an urgent appeal to raise funds to provide hospice care in the community during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Its Hospice at Home service means nurses can provide end of life care for patients in their own homes, freeing up beds in Gloucestershire’s hospitals.
Longfield Hospice also provides telephone support for people with life-limiting illnesses and bereavement counselling for loved ones.
With its charity shops closed and fundraising events cancelled, the new appeal hopes to raise funds to help Longfield’s nurses continue their important work.
Hospice at Home team member Eden Edney said: ‘With people not being able to travel at the moment, our patients who are nearing the end of their life cannot see their loved ones and we can be their only visitor in a day.
‘Our work has never been more important, so please do what you can to help us continue to care for people in our community.’
