With the Cotswolds known for its idyllic green spaces and luscious rolling hills, SoGlos teamed up with independent garden centre, The Fairview Gardener, to seek out Gloucestershire's Most Glorious Garden — launching an exclusive competition for keen horticulturists and green fingered gardeners across the county to compete for the title.
Handpicked by head gardener Glenn Satterthwaite at The Fariview Gardener, the first-prize winner not only has the honour of maintaining Gloucestershire’s Most Glorious Garden, but gets to enjoy a brilliant personal shopping experience and £150 to spend at the garden centre as well.
The two runners-up receive a cash prize of £75 or £50, allowing them to add to their already beautiful outdoor spaces - just in time for the autumn season!
A huge thank you to every single person that took part in 2022's competition, especially after such a scorching summer - the heat took a huge toll on outdoor spaces across Gloucestershire, but despite this, there were still so many impressive entries.
Gloucestershire's Most Glorious Garden competition winner
Officially winning the title of Gloucestershire's Most Glorious Garden with her garden in Gloucester is @Karenrussell1944. Glenn from The Fairview Garden said: 'This is a real oasis in the middle of the city. You can see the thought, love and attention that has gone into creating the owner's piece of paradise. Love the cat eyeing up the fox also!'
Congratulations Karen, we hope you enjoy your personal shopping experience, along with £150 to spend at The Fairview Gardener.
Gloucestershire's Most Glorious Garden competition runners up
In second place is @the_ladygardener_'s elaborate outdoor space, winning £75 to spend at The Fairview Gardener - Glenn was really impressed with the use of wall planters and felt that they provide the garden with 'a Mediterranean feel' and that 'the styles of hard materials, furniture and plants look straight out of Provence'.
Finally, being awarded the third prize of £50 for their beautiful garden is @mortonlorraine! Flourishing as Gloucestershire's very own jungle, Glenn said 'the plants look so
lush and healthy. I love the use of foliage contrasts and colour'.
