Tewkesbury has been named as one of the most popular places to retire in the UK, making it the only Gloucestershire location to make the top 10.
According to new research from Comparethemarket, the pretty medieval town is the eighth most popular place in the UK to retire, with Scarborough taking the top spot and nearby Bromsgrove also making the list.
Its life insurance team looked at 70 of the most and least populated locations in the UK to discover which were the most popular among different age groups.
Tewkesbury proved popular with retirees, with nearly one fifth of the town's population being aged 68 or over - with the research showing that seaside locations were some of the most popular with those of retirement age, too.
Offering plenty of picturesque walks along the riverside; world-class golf and indulgent afternoon tea at Tewkesbury Park; theatre, live music and comedy at The Roses Theatre; and the biggest Dobbies garden centre in the south west, it's easy to see why it's a popular place to live for people of all ages!
