The Times has named Nailsworth as one of the 25 best places to buy a house in the UK in a new list for 2024.
The Cotswolds town, loved locally for its independent shops and unique foodie destinations, is listed among locations like Coventry, Liverpool Docks and Totterdown in Bristol as one of the future best places to live in the UK.
The list is aimed at buyers and investors who're looking for 'the next big thing', hand-picking places that are on an upward curve due to regeneration schemes and improving public services, as well as strong 'arts, culture and entrepreneurial energy'.
Editors described Nailsworth as having 'all the advantages of its big brother Stroud' — named the best place to live in the UK in 2021 by The Sunday Times — as well as being 'arty, crafty and refreshingly down to earth — for the Cotswolds at least'.
The Gloucestershire town was praised for the community feel of its monthly markets and The Canteen cafe, as well as its handy proximity to Minchinhampton Common for dog walkers.
Its inclusion follows previous nods from The Times and The Sunday Times for Cheltenham and Cirencester, which were named the best place to live in the south west in 2020 and 2023 respectively.
