Whether you’re fabulous at felting, make cracking candles or you’re passionate about pottery, The Malthouse Collective has just announced a unique opportunity to have your artistic creations sold inside the destination store during the busy Christmas shopping season.
The shop in Stroud’s Salmon Springs Trading Estate is offering local designer-makers a space in its Merry Makers Shop for a reduced rate between Sunday 14 October 2018 and Tuesday 15 January 2019. Local crafters, artists and makers can sell their wares within the Malthouse Collective’s shop for three months, for a one-off £250 fee, without paying any additional commission.
The fantastic special offer provides a unique opportunity for makers to showcase their unusual gifts and crafts on the store’s upper floor, during the run up to Christmas. The Merry Makers Shop opens on Sunday 14 October 2018 with a special launch event where customers can meet the makers. The makers then just need to keep stock replenished; The Malthouse Collective’s sales team will manage the purchases and keep displays looking fresh.
While there is no upper limit on the price of handmade items, The Malthouse Collective suggests prices should be between £40 and £150 to ensure those all-important sales during the festive shopping season.
In addition to its usual opening hours, the venue will also host a range of late-night festive openings on Thursdays during November and December, where the Malthouse Bar and Kitchen will also be serving up delicious snacks and meals for hungry shoppers.
Makers to sell within The Malthouse Collective include children’s clothing from Monty and Co; London based jewellery designer Sam Ubhi; glassmaker Sarah Brown; and a range of artisanal candles, jewellery, pottery and ceramic art.
Lindsey Butcher is the owner of The Malthouse Collective and told SoGlos: ‘The Merry Makers shop will expand on our established lifestyle offering and provide makers with a rare opportunity to sell their creations for the festive period in a unique shop that celebrates all things creative.’
