Elderly care charity, Lilian Faithfull Care, hopes to raise £35,000 to buy interactive projectors for its five care homes and two day care hubs across Gloucestershire.

The interactive projectors would allow residents to play motion detecting games on most surfaces, such as tables or beds, meaning that even residents on bed rest or those with limited mobility can join in the fun.

Each interactive projector costs around £8,000, with the charity hoping to raise enough money to buy one for each of its five homes and two day care hubs, as well as investing in iPads and sensory tables.

Lilian Faithfull Care is already using technology to improve wellbeing at its homes, particularly for residents with dementia, with items such as iPads helping residents stay connected to their loved ones, especially at times when families aren’t able to get together.

The charity hopes donations from the public, especially around Christmas time, will help it raise the £35,000 required for the interactive tables.
