Known for its varied events calendar and plethora of activities to keep children entertained, Eastnor Castle has decided to change things up on Mondays throughout June – offering the perfect day out for its older visitors.
Mellow Mondays will offer grown-ups the chance to visit the castle on a Monday during school term time, providing them with a more tranquil environment where they can explore the castle, get lost in the maze, or take a lakeside stroll – without interruption from younger guests.
Other activities include the arboretum and tree trail, guided castle tours and refreshments in the on-site tea room.
Dogs are also welcome to enjoy the grounds on Mellow Mondays, with each full paying adult getting a free Mr Whippy ice cream, too!
Becky Williams, head of marketing at Eastnor Castle explained to SoGlos how the idea came about: ‘We’ve had feedback from our older visitors that they would prefer to visit Eastnor when it’s not as busy with children.
‘As we are only normally open on weekends and during the school holidays, there isn’t really an opportunity for them to do this. This will be the first time that we’ve opened up to visitors during school term time.’
Mellow Mondays will run on Mondays 4, 11, 18 and 25 June 2018 between 11am and 5:30pm.
