Residents of Cheltenham’s Clarence Square are lighting up their street and homes with fairy lights following the latest government social distancing advice to stay at home unless absolutely necessary during the Coronavirus crisis.
As businesses close across Cheltenham leaving the town centre dark, these locals want to keep the lights bright to show unity and support to their community during the Coronavirus lockdown.
The aim is to have homes lit up and ready to join in with the nationwide spontaneous applause for the NHS, due to happen on Thursday 26 March 2020 at 8pm.
Appreciative drivers have been tooting their horns, and residents are keen for people all over Cheltenham to join in.
