Perhaps the most highly-anticipated date on a Gloucester Rugby fan’s calendar, the full fixtures list for the Gallagher Premiership 2018/19 has been announced today.
It’s the first season that global insurance broker Gallagher takes on the new sponsorship title. Starting on Friday 31 August 2018, Gallagher takes over from previous sponsors, Aviva.
Alongside the discovery of the Cherry and Whites’ significant clashes, it’s a big year for the club in terms of branding and infrastructure, too. With a new kit, new logo and brand-new playing surface installed at the club over the summer.
Fixtures
Kicking off the campaign at home, the Cherry and Whites will take on the Saints at Kingsholm on Saturday 1 September 2018, before summer signing Matt Banahan will return to the Rec for the first time as the Cherry and Whites travel to Bath.
In week three of the tournament, Gloucester will take on last season’s IPA Greene King Championship winners, Bristol Bears.
Other notable games see Sale Sharks come to Kingsholm over the festive period, while Gloucester Rugby entertain Bath Rugby on the weekend of Saturday 13 April 2019, the kick off date and time for this match are still to be confirmed.
The first phase of Gallagher Premiership Rugby action will then conclude with a trip to Saracens, a home fixture against Harlequins and an away game at Wasps before the fixture calendar turns to the Heineken Champions Cup and the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Matches to watch out for on television include three Gloucester Rugby home matches which will be broadcast on BT Sport.
In round one, catch Gloucester take on Northampton Saints on Saturday 1 September 2018; during round three watch Bristol bears take on the Cherry and Whites on Friday 14 September 2018; and in round seven, fans can see Leicester Tigers at Kingsholm on Friday 16 November 2018.
The thrill of watching the Cherry and Whites play live is a fantastic experience for all sports fans, groups of friends and families from across Gloucestershire, with the chance to see a host of Gallagher Premiership matches at Kingsholm Stadium throughout the season.

New Logo and kit
Gloucester Rugby club unveiled its new logo and kit to the public back in May 2018.
Stephen Vaughan, the club’s CEO said: ‘It became clear that our current logo did not fully portray our ambition for the club and we needed a more contemporary logo that reflects the traditional elements of Gloucester Rugby.
‘We now have a master brand that does that really well and will support our ambitions for the future. The name of the club was never in question and we remain Gloucester Rugby.’
New pitch
It was announced in December 2017 that Gloucester Rugby would install a new playing surface at Kingsholm during the summer of 2018.
The state-of-the-art HERO Hybrid Grass is a mixture of natural grass and artificial grass fibres, which will be three times as durable as grass alone. The surface was chosen after feedback from players, medical staff and performance staff.
The final pitch will be ready for the first preseason friendly of the summer against Dragons on Thursday 23 August 2018.
