Get your skates on! The Gloucester Quays ice rink is open for seasonal skate sessions until Sunday 5 January 2025.

The outdoor ice rink at Gloucester Quays is open for Christmas 2024, getting the festive season fully underway in Gloucester.

The open-air ice rink is open now until Sunday 5 January 2025, providing plenty of opportunities for a scenic skate in the picturesque surroundings of Gloucester Docks — with hot chocolate and street food to warm up with after skate sessions.

Fully wheelchair accessible, the inclusive ice rink offers dedicated sessions for parents and toddlers aged three to five, with skate aids for little ones and grips for parents included; as well as sensory friendly sessions with half the number of skaters on the ice and lower music levels for a quieter and calmer atmosphere.

There are date night sessions designed for couples, which include a glass of fizz to enjoy together — and with Gloucester Quays' choice of restaurants and bars nearby, it's a great spot to host work Christmas parties and group get-togethers, too.

Tickets cost from £12 for adults; from £10.50 for juniors aged 11 to 16; from £10 for children aged three to 10; and from £10 for a wheelchair user and their carer, with family tickets also available from £38.

Children's skate aids are also available to reserve online when booking tickets for skate sessions.

There are even professional photo packages on offer to provide lasting memories for families and friends, with a skating photo package to capture the action on the ice; a family portrait photo package on Santa's sleigh; or a Santa meet and greet photo package, each costing £25 and including a photo printed on the spot to take home.

And with up to 70 per cent off the recommended retail price at Gloucester Quays' outlet stores and the eclectic Christmas markets taking place every weekend in the run up to Christmas, there are plenty of options for Christmas shopping once you're off the ice.

Gloucester Quays' ice rink is expected to attract 30,000 skaters this year, after planning permission for the ice rink and Christmas markets at Gloucester Quays was approved for the next five years in October 2024.
