Forestry England will keep woods and forests, including The Forest of Dean, open to visitors during the Coronavirus crisis.
Following the latest government guidance, Westonbirt Arboretum has closed until further notice, while at Mallards Pike Lake, Beechenhurst, Cannop Cycle Centre and Symonds Yat Rock, facilities including the cafe, toilets and car parks are closed, but forests will remain open for walking and cycling.
Holly Pretious from Forestry England said: ‘Our woods and forests remain open for people to access as we believe that now, more than ever, people can still benefit from improved health and wellbeing from being among the trees whilst taking sensible, personal precautions.’
