An ex-Gloucester and England rugby player is hoping to bring his expertise as a fitness trainer back to the county, as he opens a new gym and fitness centre in Cheltenham in October 2019.

James Forrester retired early from his successful career as a number eight for the Cherry and Whites following an injury, but went on to develop an international fitness business in Singapore. He’s now brought his young family back to Gloucestershire to run the new facility in Cheltenham.

Known as The Huddle, the health and fitness gym will open at Cheltenham Tigers Rugby Club’s newly renovated Newlands Park ground on Tuesday 1 October 2019.

Alongside offering on site parking and a state-of-the-art 3G outdoor pitch, the site will host boot camps and group exercise, personal training sessions and kids’ academy exercise classes.

James Forrester, founder of The Huddle, said: ‘When the opportunity to create The Huddle came up at Newlands, I spoke with the Tigers board and chairman Steve Ratcliffe and we immediately saw the potential.

‘The facilities are second-to-none, and the chance to build a place for members of the public to benefit from top-class coaching and fitness training jumped out at us. Having moved back to the county with my young family, and can’t wait to get started!’
