The squash courts and changing rooms at East Glos Club in Cheltenham have undergone a complete refurbishment during lockdown.
The club has spent £110,000 on improving the facilities, making them cleaner and more modern, with no disruption to members as work was carried out while the club was closed.
The squash courts, originally built in the 1970s, now have a new warm-up area with gym equipment, as well as a more vibrant new look. The changing rooms, toilets, kitchen and lounge areas have also had a refurb.
The improvements mean East Glos Club will be able to hold tournaments like the County Championships once social distancing restrictions are eased.
East Glos Club manager, Darren Morris, said: ‘As a result of these refurbishments East Glos can now showcase squash to the local grassroots community and also attract regional and national recognition by hosting tournaments and attracting professional players to train.’
The refurbishments were carried out by Cheltenham-based ampm247.
