Offering splash-tastic activities, overnight glamping stays and chances to win prizes with every surf booked, Bristol’s unique inland surfing destination, The Wave, is set to put smiles on faces this summer - and it's only around an hour's drive from Gloucestershire.
From developing water confidence with a Play in the Bay session, to cruising on a bodyboard or trying out a beginner surfing lesson, The Wave brings the joy of the water to all ages and abilities, with safe and consistent waves suitable for the whole family.
Beginner surf lessons with qualified coaches for ages six and up are perfect for first-time surfers and include instruction on dry land before putting theory into practice in the water. While those with surfing experience can choose from hour-long sessions ranging from the gentle Waikiki Surf to the advanced Expert Barrel.
As well as surfing, The Wave is passionate about sharing the benefits of being in water, getting active in a naturally healthy space, connecting people with the world around them and having shedloads of fun in the process.
Alongside the 180-metre surfing lake at its heart, The Wave has a Clubhouse with a waterside café-bar which hosts seasonal food pop-ups and a surf shop, while families can also take advantage of the on-site children’s play park.
And if there's no room in Newquay - the surf capital of the country - this summer, you can still wake up to the sound of waves with a staycation at The Wave. Its 25 family-friendly safari tents, kitted out with comfortable beds, kitchenettes and private toilets, can be booked for as little as one night.
Plus, every surf booked until Sunday 4 September 2022 gets you entered into the 'Summer Comes In Waves' prize draw, with a chance to win great prizes including surf holidays at The Wave, a Yeti cool box and a GoPro Hero 10.
