Gloucester Rugby has announced that Danny Cipriani has left the club with immediate effect, while sharing its appreciation for his contribution and wishing him well for the future.
In an official statement, Cirpriani said: ‘After much deliberation I have decided to leave Gloucester with the love, support and blessing of my coach and friend George Skivington.
‘Whilst I’m sad to be leaving such a great club I know the club is in safe hands for the future under George’s leadership.’
The fly-half, who has 16 caps for England, also said he had ‘mixed emotions’ about the decision in a tweet announcing his departure.
Gloucester Rugby coach, George Skivington, went on to say: ‘Danny has been playing at the top of his game for over a decade now, his reputation in the game is undisputed.
‘It has been a pleasure to have been a part of Danny’s career at Gloucester and I wish him well for his next challenge.’
Cipriani scored 128 points in 44 games for the cherry and whites, after joining the club in 2018.
The club has announced that Scottish fly-half, Adam Hastings, will join Gloucester Rugby for the 2021/22 season. Hastings has achieved 22 caps and 96 points in the last three years and is due to join the team at Kingsholm in summer 2021.
