While Nicole Archer only joined SoGlos as a business development manager in November 2020, it’s been one of the most exciting periods in the business’s history, culminating with her promotion to take on the pivotal role of head of commercial from this month.
Nicole’s extensive media experience includes 14 years with national publisher Reach, known as Gloucestershire Media, Northcliffe and Local World over the years, progressing right the way through from office junior to business and sponsorship director.
In addition to eight years’ experience with national publisher Archant working on flagship title Cotswold Life, progressing from field sales representative to head of business.
Nicole joined SoGlos in-line with the launch of SoGlos's brand-new Business section – swiftly followed by the announcement of the new SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards for 2021 – quickly forging relationships with the county’s leading firms and securing prestigious sponsorship opportunities.
‘Despite joining the team the day after Boris Johnson announced a new national lockdown, Nicole has been an unstoppable force in driving SoGlos forward as Gloucestershire’s leading business platform.
‘Her unrivalled experience, coupled with a tenacious attitude in taking creative ideas through to reality, have made Nicole a joy to work with at a particularly challenging time for the media industry’, said James Fyrne, SoGlos co-founder.
In her new role, Nicole will continue to work with ambitious Gloucestershire businesses to reach and engage SoGlos’s audiences across the online magazine, email newsletters, social media and events, while also developing the Advertising Hub, working closely with the Editorial Hub team and representing SoGlos in an official capacity. Not to mention planning for the first ever SGGBA to cement its position as Gloucestershire’s definitive business awards!
‘Despite working in the media sector for more than 20 years, my last six months with SoGlos have been some of the most rewarding and exciting in my whole career,’ Nicole said.
‘SoGlos has continued to punch well above its weight as an innovative independent publisher over the past 13 years, and I am thrilled to be part of its next chapter as Gloucestershire’s leading media brand.’
‘My colleagues in the Advertising Hub, and right across our Editorial Hub and Innovation Hub, all share in SoGlos’s mission to inspire our readers and help our clients’ business grow, and we can’t believe how much we’ve achieved while working remotely and being in lockdown.
‘Just imagine what we can achieve when we’re all back together in our expanding HQ on Imperial Square in Cheltenham!’
