Following huge success after launching its flagship sport and fitness experience at Gloucester Quays Retail Park back in 2024, The Padel Club is offering free introductory sessions for people looking to learn how to play.
The fastest-growing racket sport ever, the craze is sweeping the nation, dominating Europe and firmed to disrupt the UK sports industry.
A hybrid of squash and tennis, padel is played in doubles on a smaller court that also utilises the walls; the courts' compact size makes the game impactful, competitive and exciting, whilst also remaining inclusive for people of all abilities.
Along with being entertaining, sociable and ideal for people of all ages, it’s a full-body workout which involves plenty of running and movement from side-to-side, helping to improve your endurance and cardiovascular health.
A coach-led introduction to padel, the free starting session offers keen beginners an overview of the game, a guide to the shots played and how to play — and all equipment, including rackets, can be hired or purchased from the onsite shop.
Encouraging everyone to give padel a try, this session will set players up to take on the court with friends as leisurely or as intensely as they like.
And if you fall in love with the hobby that’s as good for you as it is addictive, you may choose to take part in coach-led sessions by skill level, designed to suit every player or even tournaments, for those with a competitive edge.
Bookings can be made easily through the Playtomic mobile app.
Courts cost £26 per hour, off peak; and £38 per hour at peak times.
