The Falcon Painswick is celebrating a major milestone after receiving an AA Rosette Award for culinary excellence, following its first inspection.

The accolade marks a significant achievement for the young team led by head chef Jake Haddon and general manager Daniel Orme placing it in the top 10 per cent of UK pubs and restaurants.

The AA Rosette, first introduced in 1956, is a highly respected award recognising outstanding cooking across the UK.

Achieving a Rosette reflects the quality and skill diners can expect when visiting, and The Falcon has been praised for its seasonal menus, warm hospitality, and charming atmosphere.

The AA inspector described the inn as 'packed full of character' with 'hospitality from the small team [that] really made the stay'.

The autumn-inspired menu, which features local ingredients, was noted for making 'good use of the season’s quality produce'.

Chef Jake Haddon said: 'We’re thrilled with the Rosette. It’s been an exciting journey, and we’re passionate about creating dishes that reflect the incredible ingredients of the Cotswolds. We’ll continue to innovate and push boundaries.'

General manager Daniel Orme said he's been working hard to deliver a refined yet relaxed atmosphere for diners.

He said: 'The whole team is overjoyed with this recognition. It’s a fantastic moment for The Falcon and for Painswick. We’re committed to making The Falcon a top destination for both locals and visitors.'

The Falcon, has been at the heart of the Cotswolds town for more than 200 years. Now managed by Balfour Winery, one of England’s leading wineries, The Falcon offers not only 11 bedrooms but also a revamped dining experience that highlights the best of local and seasonal produce, complemented by Balfour's award-winning English wines.

Balfour’s operations director, Lee Hart, said: 'This is a huge achievement for our young team at The Falcon. Jake and Dan have shown incredible dedication, and we’re thrilled to see their hard work recognised.

'This AA Rosette is a reflection of the passion that drives our team and is just the beginning of what we hope will be many more accomplishments.'

The Falcon Painswick is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
