The Midland Hotel near Cheltenham Spa train station is reopening this Easter weekend with a transformed look and new name.

Popular pop-up pizza company, Marvellous Medicine, has bought the Midland Hotel, a run-down Victorian pub opposite Cheltenham Spa train station.

Set to reopen on Saturday 30 March 2024, the pub has a new name after a complete makeover, launching as the pizza brand's first venue, The Steam and Whistle.

Marvellous Medicine is thrilled to breathe fresh life into the tired old commuters' pub and is promising that when it opens its doors this Saturday that guests will get to see it brought back to its former glory.

The relaxed and casual setting will serve lashings of its famous pizza, along with a range of craft beers and cocktails, and occasional live music, comedy and events.

Teasers of the new look on social media show freshly painted deep blue walls and distressed wooden flooring with an eclectic mix of colourful furniture.

The opening of The Steam and Whistle means that Marvellous Medicine will have a permanent home at the pub, instead of residing temporarily at places such as DEYA Brewing Company.
