Gloucestershire’s favourite celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge, is opening a new fish and chip restaurant at Harrods in London.
Launching on Friday 11 June 2021, Kerridge’s Fish & Chips will be located in the dining hall at Harrods, celebrating the ‘best of classic British in both its location and its menu’ – according to Tom Kerridge’s website.
The high-end chippie will serve up ethically caught seafood, handpicked by local fishmongers; triple-cooked chips which take two days to make; as well as a small selection of desserts.
Dishes include deep fried Cornish brill, line-caught British squid, hand-dived scallops and Dublin Bay prawns; grilled Dover sole or native lobster; as well as snacks like cockle popcorn, Morcambe Bay shrimps with spiced paprika butter, and pea fritters with traditional mint sauce. There’s also a vegan samosa created with help from fellow celebrity chef, Sat Bains.
As well as a selection of wine, beer and cider, there’s also a unique pea-flavoured cocktail on the menu, made using Hendricks gin, sugar snap distillate, fermented pea, rice oil and carbonated water – promising a ‘sweet, bitter, earthy’ taste with floral notes.
Tom Kerridge said: ‘I am proud to bring my take on the best seafood dishes to Harrods. I really believe that British talent and produce are at the forefront of great cuisine, and that is reflected in our team and the food we serve.’
Prices range from £5.50 for a snack up to £55 for a grilled native lobster – making it a contender for the poshest chippie in the country!
Kerridge’s Fish & Chips opens at Harrods in Knightsbridge, London on Friday 11 June 2021.
