Stroud Brewery's Light Organic Lager — otherwise known as LOL — has been recognised as one of the best independent beers in the UK, winning the gold award for Best Canned Session Lager at the BeerX UK convention.
The award, presented at BeerX by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), sees Stroud Brewery named among the UK's best independent breweries for 2024, with brewers having to first navigate regional heats to be entered into the national competition.
It comes as the latest in a long line of awards won by the brewery, including New Beer of the Year 2023 at the Brewers' Choice Awards.
Stroud Brewery posted on social media: 'Our team has poured heart and soul into crafting the perfect brew, and we're over the moon to see it recognized among the best in the industry.
'A huge thanks to our dedicated brewers and everyone who has supported us on this journey. This award is a testament to our team's passion and commitment to quality.'
Anneli Baxter, chair of competitions at SIBA said: 'It is incredibly tough to win a category Gold at a regional level, so to then go on and be named the very best in the whole of the UK at the National Awards is a massive achievement that these brewers should be hugely proud of.'
BeerX is the UK's biggest beer and brewery trade event, attracting brewers from all around the country. This year's event was the biggest ever, with over 3,000 attendees.
