People living in Prestbury have been buzzing over rumours that French chef, Raymond Blanc is taking over The Kings Arms pub.
Local people told SoGlos that Raymond Blanc had been spotted in the village, and had heard that he plans to turn the pub into an upmarket gastropub.
However, a spokesperson from Raymond Blanc’s team said: ‘We are always looking at possible pub locations and visit very many before we find the right ones.’ However, the spokesperson had no further information and could not confirm any details about a possible deal.
The Kings Arms is currently part of the Crown Carveries chain, which is owned by Mitchells & Butlers. The firm also owns brands such as Harvester, Sizzling Pubs and Toby Carvery.
Rumours suggested that work was likely to commence at the end of April, but the current owners of the pub have denied the deal.
In a statement, a spokesperson on behalf of The Kings Arms said: ‘Despite the local rumours, no deal has been done with any third party, and the site continues to operate within the wider M&B business.’
