Located on Rodborough Common near Stroud, Winstones is celebrating a century manufacturing handcrafted Cotswold ice cream in the very same factory and parlour where it all began back in 1925 — with limited edition merchandise, the release of a new Winstones book, a unique 100 year flavour and more.
Started by recently laid-off French polisher Albert Winstone, who saw opportunity in using his WW1 Matchless motorcycle and sidecar to sell his home-made ice cream around Stroud’s Five Valleys, the Winstone family business continues to win new fans to this day using the very same Victorian recipe – plus a few new flavours.
The award-winning brand even offers dairy-free flavours, so vegans can enjoy its tasty ice cream, too!
But that's not all, the iconic parlour even provides dog-friendly frozen yoghurt for panting pooches, making it perfect for a post-walkies treat.
Located on the same rustic site where it all began a century ago, with nothing more than a stove and a handbell, the family company is celebrating its milestone achievement with ice cream fans from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 May 2025.
Spanning three days, you can expect a top secret Winstones book launch, a new 100 year flavour, guest activities, face painting, music, giveaways and more — with finer details yet to be announced.
