A new Italian restaurant that opens in Stroud on Thursday 16 June 2022 is a dream come true for a foodie couple from Italy.
Terra Cucina Italiana has opened in Sandersons Boutique at Five Valleys Shopping Centre in Stroud and is the work of Clara Cardillo and Matteo Conte.
The husband-and-wife team have grown their business from a farmers’ market stall in Cirencester in 2018 to a permanent spot in Five Valleys Shopping Centre indoor market in Stroud.
And the opening of their first Italian restaurant is the icing on the cake.
The owners of Non Solo Pasta will be serving breakfast and lunch every day and on Friday evenings, they’ll also stay open for dinner, as well as offering brunch on Sundays.
The appealing menu includes starters of seafood arancini with black cuttlefish ink; smoked salmon and cream cheese served with homemade lemon mayo; aubergine parmigiana with fresh tomatoes sauce, Provolone di Recco and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese; as well as a feasting board with selection of Italian cured meat, cheese, fresh fruit and homemade bread.
Among the mains are spaghetti with Sorrento lemon and prawn tartare; seabass in crosta di patate with pak choi and salsa verde; raviolone with spinach and ricotta and creamy egg yolk served with sage butter and asparagus; and pork tenderloin with wild mushrooms on toasted sourdough bread.
Decadent desserts served in cocktail glasses will also tempt diners, who can choose between traditional tiramisu; panna cotta with passion fruit coulis and homemade sorbet of the day.
There’s also a bespoke menu for children, offering a small pasta dish, meatballs or fish cakes.
Conte said: ‘We’re offering a full and exciting menu. Many of the dishes are favourites from Italy, such as slow roasted venison with pappardelle. The very best of all ingredients will be used from the highest quality olive oil, cheese and of course, fresh pasta.’
