The stable of Daylesford Organic pubs is growing with a new Cotswolds opening this autumn 2023, bringing its total to three.
The Bell, in the Cotswold market town of Charlbury, has been refurbished from top to bottom ahead of its opening in September.
It follows the opening of The Fox at Oddington in 2022, the sister pub of The Wild Rabbit in Kingham which opened in 2013.
Owned by billionaires Lord and Lady Bamford, what started as Daylesford Organic farmshop near Stow-on-the-Wold 20 years ago, has become a Cotswold lifestyle brand that includes cafes and delis in London as well as a wellness spa and private members club, alongside the original farm shop that sells food, drink, homewares and plants.
The latest acquisition, a 17th century inn, has been at the heart of the community for many years.
Its refurbishment aims to create a 50-cover pub serving a selection of hearty classics with ingredient-led dishes that celebrate seasonal produce.
The bar forms the heart of the pub, crafted using ash wood from the Daylesford Estate, while inglenook fireplaces offer cosy spots to enjoy a meal by the fire.
Ingredients for the revamped pub will come from local suppliers and growers as well as from the farm at Daylesford Organic.
In addition to the pub, The Bell Barn offers a 30-cover open-plan dining room to serve as a restaurant space as well as for parties and celebrations.
Planned as a restaurant and space for private hire, the centrepiece of The Barn is a theatrical open wood-fired grill.
Platters of seasonal produce can be enjoyed inside or alfresco in the pub's orchard garden. Just under an acre in size, the garden has apple trees and a stream running through it.
Twelve bedrooms above the pub and The Barn are getting a fresh new look, including a two-bedroom family suite.
Each bedroom draws inspiration from the neighbouring ancient woodland.
The official opening date will be revealed later this year.
