New tapas bar, Bar Padron, will be bursting onto the Cheltenham restaurant scene this summer – offering diners the chance to enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine, Iberian tunes and sangria into the small hours.

Situated on Cheltenham’s Regent Street, after a four-week soft launch Bar Padron officially opens on Thursday 27 June 2019.

The menu brims with tasty small dishes cooked fresh by head chef Roberto C Sanchez, who has 15 years of experience in traditional Spanish cuisine, and his team.

After grazing on olives and almonds, diners can tuck into classic tapas dishes including Tabla De Jamon, Pimento De Padron, Patatas Bravas and Tortilla Espanola, as well as plenty of vegetarian options. Churros, meanwhile, are sure to be a popular dessert choice.

A comprehensive Spanish wine list is also on offer at Bar Padron, with Mahou on tap and bottles of craft Spanish beer. Plus, gin fans will find several Spanish varieties to add tonic to, not to mention jugs of summery Sangria, of course.

Bar Padron owner, Matthew Wood, said: ‘I have travelled through Spain quite extensively, and have always loved the simple, small dishes brimming with flavour… When I returned from an amazing trip to Cádiz, and realised there wasn’t a tapas bar here, I felt the need to open an authentic Spanish restaurant and bar in the town of Cheltenham.’
