Former Top Gear presenter turned farmer, Jeremy Clarkson, revealed he was launching his own beer via Instagram on Thursday 25 November 2021.
Produced in partnership with the Cotswold Brew Co. in Cheltenham, Hawkstone Lager goes on sale from today, coinciding with Black Friday.
Made using barley grown on Clarkson’s Cotswold farm, Jeremy had help from Rick and Emma Keene at the brewery, who he was introduced to by the landlord at his local.
Described as ‘the very highest quality premium lager’, Hawkstone takes its name from a Neolithic standing stone near Jeremy’s farm, Diddly Squat, in Chipping Norton.
It even has its own slogan, ‘Hard to make, easy to drink’. Because while Hawkstone Lager takes around six weeks to create, the industry standard is closer to nine days.
And unlike lagers produced by bigger brewers, Hawkstone is naturally carbonated as part of the process, which means smaller bubbles and ‘a softer mouth feel’.
As well as being sold at the Diddly Squat farm shop featured in the Amazon documentary series Clarkson’s Farm, cases of 12 or 24 bottles can also be purchased via the Hawkstone website.
And, as the video Clarkson posted to his Instagram account confirms, Hawkstone Lager will be available from Amazon from Saturday 4 December 2021, too.
As an added incentive, locals can take advantage of free delivery for those living in GL postcodes when ordering their lager through the official website, too.
