Gloucester Docks’ popular drinks venue, Dr Foster’s, will reopen this summer as a gastropub with a fresh and re-imagined concept, after being purchased by acclaimed Hereford restaurant group, A Rule of Tum.
Promising the essence of a classic pub with a modern twist, A Rule of Tum is putting in the work to restore the historic Kimberley Warehouse to its former glory.
A favourite spot for locals and day-trippers to watch the boats with a pint before closing, the new look site presents a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying anything from a casual beer, to brunch and coffee or a hearty meal.
Officially opening doors on Friday 12 July 2024, visitors to the newly rebranded Dr Foster can expect a diverse menu featuring brunch dishes such as Foster’s Baked Eggs with yogurt, nduja sausage crumb, dukkah, and sourdough; and tempting evening meals like the classic chicken, thyme and leek pie, served with A Rule of Tum’s famous buttered mash potato.
Veggies and vegans won't miss out either, with menu items such as the ogleshield and onion pie, and coal-roasted harissa aubergine with pomegranate and chimichurri. Gluten-free alternatives are also available for most of Dr Foster’s dishes.
Dorian and Edwin Kirk, co-founders of A Rule of Tum said: 'We are incredibly excited to bring Dr Foster to Gloucester Docks. This beautiful location and historic building provide the perfect backdrop for our vision of a gastropub that offers outstanding food and a welcoming atmosphere.
'We can’t wait to open officially and become a cherished part of the vibrant Gloucester Docks community.'
What's more, to celebrate the reopening of Dr Foster, those across Gloucestershire are invited to take part in an exclusive trial period from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7July 2024, in which diners can enjoy 50 per cent off food.
To qualify, diners must follow the eatery on social media and subscribe to
