Gloucestershire is home to a pair of restaurants recognised with prestigious Michelin Star accolades once again in 2025.
Announced at the official Michelin Guide ceremony in Glasgow on Monday 10 February 2025, Cheltenham restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage retained its One Michelin Star for the 29th consecutive year, with Cheltenham restaurant Lumiere also holding onto its One Michelin Star for the third year in a row.
The new 2025 Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland includes a total of 1,147 restaurants, including 220 recognised with Stars – and while little has changed in Gloucestershire in the latest edition, Moor Hall in Lancashire won a brand-new Michelin Three Star making it one of only 10 in the UK; three restaurants were newly-awarded Two Michelin Stars; and 22 restaurants won new Michelin One Stars in 2025.
A total of 36 new Bib Gourmands have also been awarded
for restaurants 'offering good food at a great price' in 2025, with Gloucestershire pub The Horse and Groom being awarded the recognition in 2025.
Five new Green
Stars were given out in 2025 for 'outstanding commitment to a more sustainable approach
to gastronomy', with Cotswold cafe and farmshop Daylesford Organic retaining the impressive award.
Gloucestershire restaurants with Michelin Stars in 2025
One of only two Gloucestershire restaurants with a Michelin Star in the 2025 edition of the guide — Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham has maintained its One Michelin Star.
Opened in 1987 by chef David Everitt-Matthias and his wife Helen, who have famously never missed a service.
Describing Le Champignon Sauvage, the Michelin Guide says: 'Your visit will be book-ended by a terrific bread basket and a delicious dessert; the latter has long been a real strength here, so look out for a cheesecake or chocolate delice to satisfy your sweet tooth.'
Cheltenham's Lumière also retained its One Michelin Star in the latest Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2025.
The fine dining foodie destination, which is owned and run by husband-and-wife team, Helen and Jon Howe is described in the Michelin Guide as an 'elegantly stylish restaurant' in the centre of town serving 'overtly seasonal cooking' and a 'crowd-pleasing signature Tequila Slammer sorbet'!

Cotswolds destination Daylesford Organic has maintained it Green Michelin Star for a fourth year in 2025.
Introduced for the first time in 2021, Michelin Green Stars celebrate sustainability, with the Michelin Guide describing Daylesford as a 'stylishly rustic eatery' that offers dining in a choice of areas: 'head to the Legbar for charcuterie and nibbles, the Old Spot for pizzas and wood-roasted specials, or the main Trough Café for something a bit more substantial'.
