From the cost of a few beers to the fare for a taxi home, Gloucester has been ranked one of the cheapest places in the UK to enjoy a night out this New Year's Eve.
In a ranking based on research from national ticket supplier and events guide Skiddle, Gloucester came second out of all UK cities for the most affordable in which to see in the New Year, offering some of the best value for drinks, fast food and transport.
The study used information from cost of living database Numbeo to calculate the average cost of a list of night out essentials, covering a few domestic and imported beers, a bottle of wine, a new dress from a chain store, a McDonalds meal, a one-way public transport ticket and a taxi fare for a local journey.
Gloucester's expected cost was £74.35 per person, coming in second only to Salisbury, which was just slightly cheaper at £73.63.
Unsurprisingly, the most expensive UK city for a night out on New Year’s Eve is London, with an expected cost of £114.57.
