A gold gilded ceiling; dark wood panelling; Asian paintings and detailed vases; and rich velvet banquettes have transformed No. 131’s interior for the launch of new ‘Tokyo vogue’ Japanese restaurant, YOKU.

A decadent new Japanese dining destination, YOKU officially opened on Friday 11 March 2022, just in time for Cheltenham’s popular Race Week, and is owned by Jade and Julian Dunkerton.

YOKU’s new menu is as extravagant as its new interior – with an extensive sushi selection. The YOKU ‘underwater kingdom’ signature platter, for four to six people, for example, features classics such as seabass sashimi; unagi maki; and Hokkaido scallops for impressively displayed for £120.

There’s also individual hand-rolled temaki; a good selection of plant-based sushi options; and warm dishes including miso black cod, grilled Wagyu skewers, kimchi rice bowls and a selection of ramen.
