Refillable, founded and run by mother and daughter duo Stamena and Leny Dimitrova, has announced that it will be opening a bistro above its high street shop in Tetbury — just in time for Valentine's Day.
The pair first opened their eco-friendly, plastic free grocery shop back in November last year with plans to expand, offering a bistro upstairs later in 2025.
However, the shop has proven so popular they have opted to open Verdure much
earlier than anticipated, creating three more jobs for the Cotswolds town.
In line with the eco-friendly theme, the new eatery offers a natural feel with thoughtful planting provided by Cirencester company Fern & Ivy.
Founder, Kate Holtom said: 'Stamena and Leny sent me over the design for the space and we spoke about light and the placement of plants. I drafted up a list of suitable plants and advised on their care and we’re thrilled to be able to contribute to the expansion of this new business.'
While a menu is yet to be confirmed, the brand has revealed that there will be a selection of vibrant, nutrient-packed freshly squeezed, cold-pressed juices, smoothies and fresh shots available, made using fresh organic produce from the Refillable shop, 'preserving every enzyme, vitamin and bit of flavour'.
Plus, the eatery will offer products from a host of local suppliers including the Great Cake Company from Melksham — specialising in gluten free baking — and The Artisan Baker from Stroud.
A unique element to note is that take out visitors will be served beverages in edible cups, made of bran wheat, offering customers the choice to either throw it away — breaking down without having a negative impact on the environment — or to eat the cup once the drink has been consumed. Zero waste!
Stamena said: 'We want to thank the people of Tetbury for their amazing support – indeed we’ve had customers come from all over the Cotswolds and Wiltshire to buy our products.
'Now we are busy preparing the bistro, which will be known as Verdure (from the Latin for green, fresh — to evoke a sense of natural abundance and well-being), and will offer teas, coffees, drinks, snacks and sandwiches, using our organic products from the shop downstairs. Many of these products come from local suppliers as we try to buy local where possible.'
Launching on Valentine's Day — Friday 14 February 2025 — Verdure's opening hours will mirror those of the shop: Monday to Friday
8.30am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.
