DEYA Brewing Company has announced its expansion into two new units in Cheltenham’s Lansdown Industrial Estate, meaning fans of the hoppy pale ales can enjoy a new 4,000 square foot taproom, and more regular events.
The company is also installing a bespoke four vessel and 40 hectolitre brewhouse, meaning it can increase its production capacity. The new taproom is hoped to be open by Christmas 2019.
The company has been brewing beer since 2015, when founder and owner Theo Freyne set up shop with DEYA’s flagship beer ‘Steady Rolling Man’, which was then brewed on a small scale. DEYA eventually moved into its 4,000 square foot industrial unit in Cheltenham’s Lansdown Industrial Estate with a larger brewery kit.
By 2018, Deya had increased capacity to 350,000 litres and built a great reputation both locally and nationally.
Speaking to SoGlos, owner Theo Freyne said: ‘The expansion is into a 35,000 square foot premises opposite where the current brewery sits. We want the brewery to become a destination venue and something that Cheltenham people can be proud of.
‘We are looking to open the new taproom before Christmas. The expansion means we can increase capacity, control and flexibility with our beers and our company. It’s an incredibly exciting time and shows our commitment to making world class beer and being an excellent company to work for. We’ll be open 5 days a week with extended hours and there’ll be plenty of events!’
