A new delivery service has launched in Gloucester offering to drive an ice cream van to your house, where it will serve up fresh ice cream sundaes, hot waffles, cakes and even sweets!
Dial ‘A’ Dessert is the brainchild of Fundae Sundae Parties, which rents out its ice cream van for events around Gloucestershire. But now, the firm is offering a delivery service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings between 6pm and 9pm.
The delivery service only launched on Friday 31 August 2018, but is already proving popular with locals, who have been indulging in the firm’s famous sharing boxes – including two ice creams, sweets, drinks and cakes for £9.99.
The menu includes favourites such as red velvet cake, apple crumble with custard, sugared waffles, knickerbocker glory, ice cream trays topped with sweets and ice cream sundaes.
Rich Humphries is behind the idea and told SoGlos: ‘We know that people like to curl up on the weekend with a dessert, so all they need to do is give us a call, we roll up outside in the ice cream van playing Yankee Doodle and they come and collect their delicious treats!
‘We’d been asked about it for a while when we’ve been at events, asking us to come and deliver, and actually as the winter months roll in we thought why not?!’
