A sweet start
Taking cover from a miserable rainy Tuesday, the SoGlos team stepped inside Creams Café and were instantly sniffing away at the sublimely sweet aroma that wafts out of the ovens cooking gooey cookie dough and fresh waffles.
Raising dessert diners to a whole new level, Creams’ décor features plant adorned walls, graffiti art and plenty of space to kick back and loosen your belt to make room for a mammoth selection of sweet treats.
Boasting a menu overflowing with sugary heaven, chocolate decadence and sensational sundaes to die for, our table – a bunch of grown-ups in our 20s and 30s, found ourselves giddy with choice and excitedly making the tough decision of which option to go for.
Devilishly delicious
With more than one set of sweet teeth amongst our group, we opted for a heavenly selection of drinks including the Oreo hot chocolate which was rich, silky and almost ganache like in texture. We also sipped on a Ferrero Rocher milkshake, which to our delight, had real pieces of the scrumptious chocolate on top.
Transporting us back to our childhood, we were very much like big kids in a sweet shop as we somewhat optimistically ordered our food, including the sticky banoffee cookie dough which was irresistibly gooey on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
With a hum of resounding ‘mmms’ coming from our table, another of our options was a crepe with Nutella and fresh strawberries. Light and fluffy, the dish featured two crepes – a surprise we definitely weren’t complaining about.
Sublimely sweet
An absolute dream for children and adults craving a sugar surge that is immensely delicious, the menu at Creams Café offers a huge amount of options from waffles to crepes and cookie dough to sundaes. And all for a great price considering the size of the generous portions.
We also couldn’t turn down the chance to try out the famous bubble tea, one that we agreed was definitely an acquired taste. Suitably stuffed with incredible desserts, it is worth noting however, that all of our food arrived at different times and some of our group had finished before the others were given their drinks, which was disappointing.
Feeling like we needed an afternoon nap after tucking into lip-smackingly perfect puddings, we agreed we’ll definitely be back to try something else or even select to take away from the tempting menu.
